BGSO announces their 2010/2011 concert season

After a hugely successful 2009/2010 season of performances at Birmingham Conservatoire, the BGSO are delighted to announce the new concert season - featuring more performances, and an exciting collaboration with Rainbow Voices.

The first concert of the season is on Saturday 20 November, 7.00pm at Birmingham Conservatoire, and will be presented as part of the SHOUT LGBT Arts festival. This concert, Strictly BGSO!, features dance-themed works including pieces by Rimsky Korsakov, Borodin and Saint Saens.

On Sunday 19 December, 5.00pm, at Birmingham Conservatoire, the BGSO and Birmingham based LGBT choir, Rainbow Voices will collaborate in The Twelve Gays Of Christmas - a musical extravaganza that promises to kickstart the festive season with a bang!

The BGSO's first concert of 2011 will take place on Sunday 10 April, 5.00pm at Birmingham Conservatoire. Further information about this concert will be released in due course .

Finally, the BGSO finish the season with a Pride Proms on Saturday 11 June, 7.00pm at Birmingham Conservatoire. This concert will feature many Last Night of the Proms classics, along with a few camp classics, and surprise soloists!

Chris Calvert, BGSO Chairperson says,

"We're really excited that this year's BGSO season contains not only more concerts than last year, but also features the fantastic choir, Rainbow Voices. Last year, we performed to over 700 audience members, not to mention many hundred more at Birmingham Pride. My advice is: get your tickets quick! This year, we aim to perform to over 2000. My advice is: get your tickets quick! Tickets for our November and December concerts are now available by logging on to www.bgso.org.uk, or by calling 0121 303 23 23"

The BGSO gets a new website!

Today, the BGSO launched its brand new website - packed with features including an events calendar, photo/video galleries and information about the orchestra.

BGSO chairperson Chris Calvert had this to say about the launch:

"We are delighted that we now have this excellent way to communicate with our growing fanbase! We look forward to adding further features in coming months, so be sure to check back at regular intervals!"
